Here’s why fans think that Hugh Jackman is going to be in Avengers: Endgame

Surely not?

Speculation has mounted that Hugh Jackman, famous for his roles as Jean Valjean, PT Barnum and, well, Wolverine, might be turning up somewhere very unexpected some time soon. A Google search for "famous Hugh Jackman movies" for some reason throws back a result of Avengers: Endgame — the follow-up to 2018's much discussed Infinity War, which saw half of our beloved Marvel characters crumble into dust. Not much is known about the fourth Avengers film just yet — even though we finally have a trailer — but we know that it's set to be the final chapter in this phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Twists, shocks and high-profile deaths are expected, and a Wolverine-out-of-nowhere gambit is the exact kind of move that some fans will expect. Disney's recent acquisition of 21st Century Fox means that the once-off-limits X-Men are now very much on the table, but it would be a surprise if Marvel Studios had acted fast enough to include Wolverine (who's supposed to be dead) in the MCU by May. Of course, there are other possible explanations. A glitch, a mistake on Google's part, some strange side-effect of the Thanos finger-snap.
