JOE recently called Apple TV+ spy thriller Slow Horses "the best show on TV" but, for our money, the second best is the nerve-racking financial drama Industry.
Airing on HBO in the US and BBC One in the UK and Ireland, the series follows a group of employees working at Pierpoint & Co, a prestigious investment bank in London.
As the job involves dealing with the immensely wealthy and moving around millions of pounds everyday, it is extremely stressful and cutthroat - leading many to turn to non-stop partying, drinking and drugs to unwind.
It isn't long, however, before this workplace culture takes a toll on those involved.
Over its first two seasons, it has garnered a ton of critical acclaim and a hugely devoted cult fan base - thanks to its authentically nail-biting workplace scenes, its stunning mix of intricate and interweaving plot-lines, its fearless performances, its always stylish direction and its exploration of a variety of modern-day social issues.
Season three of the show - which sees Game of Thrones' Kit Harrington joining the cast - has been airing in the States for a few weeks now, where it has earned even more critical adoration.
The general consensus, in fact, is that Industry's third batch of episodes are its best yet - which is great news as BBC One have just confirmed when the new season will begin airing in Ireland and the UK: Tuesday, 1 October at 10.40pm.
You can read a sample of some of the raves for Industry season three right here:
El Español: "The first season was good, the second excellent, and the third is extraordinary. If the best genes of Succession and Mad Men came together to create the perfect series of this decade, their Gen Z daughter, it would be Industry."
FandomWire: "With its third season, Industry makes another massive leap forward and cements itself as a worthy successor to Succession as HBO’s prestige drama/business world satire du jour."
Mashable: "That atmosphere of high-risk, high-reward decision-making, complemented by high-risk, high-reward television-making, makes watching Industry a high of its own."
Paste Magazine: "It wavers between pulpy family melodrama, steamy erotica, and heart-racing white-collar crime thriller at the drop of a hat while discovering new textures to characters that ensure no one lands squarely on one side of the good-bad person spectrum."
TV Guide: "Industry has made a habit of getting better with each season, but 'spectacular' is indeed the best word to describe its frenetic, fascinating, and self-assured third season."
Sadly, as Ireland does not have access to the BBC iPlayer, Irish fans of Industry will have to tune in to or record the show weekly as it drops a new episode each Tuesday on BBC One from 1 October.
