The Irish were out in force at last night’s Oscar Wilde Awards in LA

Last night in Hollywood saw the 12th Annual Oscar Wilde Awards take place in California, an event known to most as ‘The Irish Oscars’.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams hosts the event in his Bad Robot production company headquarters every year, with the awards set up to help celebrate the Irish contributions to modern cinema.

This year’s honorees included Ruth Negga, Glen Hansard, Caitriona Balfe, Martin Short and Zachary Quinto, while the star-studded guest-list included Chris Pine, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Diane Keaton, Jon Hamm, Sarah Paulson, Nora-Jane Noone, Ruth Bradley, Shannon Woodward, Amy Huberman, Kyle MacLachlan, and loads more besides.

Throughout the event, the audience were given a bevy of Irish cuisine including Irish whiskey coffee shots, Barry’s Tea, Guinness, Teeling’s Whiskey, Kerrygold Irish Cream Liqueur, Pau Maui vodka and Keogh’s Crisps.

Sounds like the best night out ever.
