Ireland represented in a major way in this year's Oscar nominees
The Banshees of Inisherin secured a number of nominations, while An Cailín Ciúin and Paul Mescal also received nods.
The nominations for this year's Oscars have been announced and Ireland is well-represented throughout a number of categories.
Martin McDonagh's comedy-drama The Banshees of Inisherin secured nine nominations, including for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay.
As expected, Colin Farrell also received a Best Actor nom for his work in the film, while Barry Keoghan, Brendan Gleeson and Kerry Condon all earned supporting nods.
Farrell will face off in the Best Actor race against fellow Irishman Paul Mescal, who was honoured for his work in the acclaimed indie drama Aftersun.
Meanwhile, the Irish-language coming-of-age film An Cailín Ciúin received a nomination in the Best International Film category.
Also, the Northern Irish short film An Irish Goodbye earned a nod in the Best Live Action short category.
Leading the Oscar nominations is sci-fi adventure Everything Everywhere All at Once with 11, followed by Banshees and German war film All Quiet on the Western Front with nine a piece.
The nominations were on Tuesday (24 January) at a ceremony hosted by Riz Ahmed (Sound of Metal) and Allison Williams (M3GAN).
The 95th Academy Awards ceremony will take place in Los Angeles on 12 March.
It will be hosted by comedian Jimmy Kimmel in what will be his third time hosting the event.
