13 Irish people that can’t cope with the wonderful new Netflix series Stranger Things

Paul Moore

Everyone is watching this.

Not since Netflix launched Making A Murderer has a series managed to captivate audiences quite like Stranger Things has.

We’re huge fans of the show because it’s a perfect tribute/homage to some of the best films of the 80s, mixed with Stephen King’s novels and gothic TV shows like The X-Files and Eerie Indiana.

Without saying too much, the first episode feels like you’re watching The Goonies, E.T, The Breakfast Club and Stand by Me but with a soundtrack that features the likes of Joy Division, David Bowie and The Clash.

Irish fans have really identified with the supernatural story of a young boy who vanishes into thin air. As friends, family and local police search for answers, they are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl.

Here’s a small insight into the impact that it has already had with Irish viewers.
