This new television show starring Jaden Smith sounds absolutely wild. Picture an episode of Black Mirror about Kanye West.
Kanye West and Jaden Smith have both been known to be quite experimental with their musical projects.
Kanye in particular, literally revolutionised an entire genre of music, and constantly pushes the boundaries with his new sounds and ideas.
So we’re not going to go as far as say we’re surprised by this latest news, but it is still fairly wild.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Jaden Smith (son of Will) will play Kanye in a new TV show Omniverse, that is being described as a limited half-hour anthology series “examining the many doors of perception”.
The first season, the one for which a pilot script has been commissioned, will explore ego through the alternative reality of Kanye West. Who else, in fairness.
The show is being created by Justin Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun’s company SB Projects, as well as Westbrook Studios and writer Lee Sung Jin.
We have no idea what to expect from it, but we definitely want to see it. It could be made even better again by Kanye doing the soundtrack for the whole thing.
We can dream, right?
