Airwolf star Jan-Michael Vincent has died, aged 74

The actor passed away last month.

Jan-Michael Vincent, star of cult 1980s television show Airwolf, has died at the age 74.

TMZ, having obtained a copy of the death certificate, reports that the actor passed away on 10 February following a cardiac arrest while a patient at a hospital in North Carolina.

They note that no autopsy was performed and Vincent was later cremated.

During his life, Vincent struggled with drugs and alcohol and spent time in rehab facilities.

It was revealed during a 2014 interview that his right leg was amputated just below the knee, following an infection.

Airwolf, which ran for four seasons between 1984 and 1987, saw Vincent play the lead role of helicopter pilot Stringfellow Hawke.

The show is remembered for being something of a weekend staple for Irish viewers, as well as boasting one of the most iconic theme tunes of the era:
