2020 got off to a flying start, with the announcement that Mark-Paul Gosselaar is set to reprise his iconic role as Zack Morris in the upcoming reboot of Saved by the Bell.

Our nostalgia levels went into overdrive, although they were stifled a bit when it was revealed that not all of the original cast members were believed to be involved.

And by the sounds of it, it’s not just us that are disappointed by this.

Lark Voorhies, who played Lisa Turtle on the show, has voiced her displeasure with the fact that she was not contacted for the reboot.

In a recent interview, she said: “I have to admit I did feel a bit slighted and hurt when I was not invited to be part of the Saved By the Bell reunion as well as other cast members events, yet of course.”

A damn shame.

Also starring Mario Lopez (AC Slater) and Elizabeth Berkley (Jessie Spano), the new Saved By the Bell is expected to tell the story of a crop of students “from a variety of socioeconomic factors”.

The show is expected to air on NBC’s new streaming service, which is due to launch in the US in April. No details have been released as to whether the show will be syndicated in Ireland.
