Here’s who’s on the Late Late and the Graham Norton Show tonight

Conor Heneghan

Late Late

Things could get heated in the Late Late studio tonight.

Ryan Tubridy will be hosting the first major TV debate ahead of the abortion referendum next month, while Graham is joined by a couple of big hitters and the UK’s 2018 Eurovision contestant.

The Late Late kicks off as usual at 9.35pm on RTÉ One, while the Graham Norton Show is on BBC One at 10.35pm and BBC One Northern Ireland at 11.05pm.

Here are the line-ups for both shows in full.

The Late Late Show

  • Debate on the referendum on the Eighth Amendment – The first major television debate on the upcoming abortion referendum will be hosted by Ryan Tubridy in the Late Late studio on Friday night, just under a month until the Irish people go to the polls. Representatives of the Together For Yes and LoveBoth campaigns will be in studio to put their cases forward for the repeal or retention of the Eighth Amendment, while Ryan Tubridy will be joined by people who have their own personal stories to tell about the issue. The debate will also include questions from invited members of The Late Late Show audience, from both sides of the referendum campaign.
  • Davy Russell – It’s been an eventful year for Davy Russell, who won his first ever Grand National title at Aintree earlier this month, shortly after the passing of his mother in March. The popular jockey will discuss that famous victory on Tiger Roll, which came five years after he initially parted ways with the horse’s owner, Michael O’Leary, over a cup of tea.
  • Jessie Buckley – Kerry native Jessie Buckley has been making waves in the entertainment industry of late, doing everything from singing for Andrew Lloyd Webber, starring alongside Tom Hardy in the TV series Taboo and alongside Renée Zellweger in an upcoming Judy Garland biopic. Jessie will be on to discuss her rise to prominence, her new movie Beast and why her heart is always in Kerry.
  • Debbie McGee – Having reached the final of Strictly Come Dancing at 59 years young, McGee will share with Ryan Tubridy how the show gave her a new lease of life following the death of her husband, magician Paul Daniels, to whom she was married for 28 years.
  • Listowel History Festival – Ryan and the audience will get to check out some of the replica cars from famous TV shows that will be featuring in the Listowel History Festival next month.
  • Music from Miles Graham and Something Happens.

The Graham Norton Show

  • Orlando Bloom – The star of the lucrative franchises Pirates of the Caribbean and Lord of the Rings will be onto discuss his role in the West End play Killer Joe.
  • Stephen Merchant – Always a welcome presence on Graham’s couch, the comedian will chat about lending his voice to a new animation called Sherlock Gnomes.
  • SuRie – With only a couple of weeks to go until the Eurovision, the UK representative will be on to perform this year’s entry, titled ‘Storm’.
