Staying in tonight?

Up until recently, staying in on Good Friday (or at least not going to the pub) was compulsory in Ireland.

That’s not the case anymore, but if you are going to be couch-bound tonight, here’s what our erstwhile TV hosts will be serving up for your viewing pleasure.

The Late Late airs on RTÉ One as usual at 9.35pm, while the Graham Norton Show goes out on BBC One at 10.30pm and 11pm on BBC Northern Ireland.

The Late Late Show

A typically eclectic mix on the Late Late tonight, featuring a renowned actor, arguably the most famous pundit in the GAA, two Irish women making waves in international circles and music from Gavin James.

Adrian Dunbar, currently starring in the wildly popular Line of Duty, will chat to Ryan Tubridy about his illustrious career and what it was like growing up in Northern Ireland.

No stranger to an RTÉ studio, Kerry GAA legend Pat Spillane will be focussed on another topic close to his heart on the show tonight, as he will join Ryan to discuss if enough is being done to save rural Ireland.

Samantha Barry – editor-in-chief of US Glamour – and Laura Whitmore have made waves internationally in recent years and as firm friends themselves, they’ll be discussing everything from their beginnings in Ballincollig and Bray to why it’s so important to them that women support each other.

Elsewhere, Father Sean Hyland and Niall McDonagh will chat to Ryan about how they turned to religion to cope with grief following the loss of close family members and former hurler Dessie Fitzgerald will open up how about a spate of life-changing events in the space of a year led him to hit rock bottom and how he’s managed to turn his life around since.

There’s also be a shout out for World Naked Bike Ride, taking place in Cork in June, while Gavin James and Cork band True Tides will provide musical entertainment.

The Graham Norton Show

A very strong female presence on the couch with Graham tonight.

Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson will be on to talk about their upcoming movie, The Hustle, while Jodie Comer will be able to elaborate on what has made the TV show Killing Eve such a huge success.

Daniel Radcliffe, no stranger to the show, will be on to chat about providing his voice for Playmobil: The Movie amongst other things, while up and coming British R&B singer Mabel will be on hand for a tune.
