Late Late Show line up

The very best in Irish talent will be celebrated.

St. Patrick’s Day is upon us, so you know what that means.

Why yes, The Late Late Show is pivoting to patriotism.

With the strains of ‘Ireland’s Call’ still ringing in our ears from weeks ago, Ryan Tubridy will go even further on the Irish pride front for a special Thursday-night episode showcasing the very best in homegrown talent.

As such, Olympic gold medal hero Kellie Harrington will hit the studio following her appearance at the Dublin St. Patrick’s Day parade, where she will serve as the Grand Marshal.

Harrington will reflect on her first foray into the squared circle since Tokyo, having triumphed at the Standja tournament in Bulgaria in February.

The popular pugilist will also discuss her upcoming wedding and the forthcoming World Championships in Istanbul.

There’s also room for an international star, of course, with Hollywood actor John C. Reilly on board as a late (late) addition to proceedings.

Expect him to be charming and to also be a big fan of Ireland, probably.

Back in the world of domestic sport, Republic of Ireland boss Stephen Kenny will chat about his hopes for the future of Irish football.

Live-wire comedian Oliver Callan will celebrate Paddy’s Day via a host of well-known Irish voices.

Offering up a musical perspective, Moya Brennan and legendary group Clannad will look back on decades of success as they get set to embark on their farewell tour.

Bell X1 frontman Paul Noonan will lend his skills in accompaniment for a unique performance.

That’s not all, though – Persian/Irish collective Nava will make their Late Late debut, while folk musician Dan McCabe will provide a spirited version of ‘A Song for Ireland’.

Tubridy is also promising “plenty of surprises” on the night, which may or may not relate to speaking with Irish people who are spending St. Patrick’s Day across the world.

Finally, the show will present an award on the night while paying homage to the victims of the ongoing war in Ukraine.

“I am very excited about our show on St Patrick’s night,” said Tubridy.

“We look forward to welcoming everyone from right around the world on RTÉ Player where we will be raising a glass or a mug to everyone who calls Ireland home.

“We are all family, and we will gather together to remind ourselves of why we love being Irish.”

The Late Late Show is on RTÉ One on Thursday, 17 March at 9.30pm
