The Taoiseach will reflect on his first 18 months in office.

Leo Varadkar takes top billing on this week’s Late Late Show as he looks back on the highs and lows of his run as Taoiseach thus far.

The Fine Gael leader will join Ryan Tubridy on Friday night to talk about being Ireland’s youngest ever Taoiseach, navigating Brexit and the stability of the government as the Supply and Confidence agreement with Fianna Fáil comes up for renewal.

Varadkar will also address the speculation surrounding the prospect of an upcoming general election, in addition to the key issues that face the current government, from housing to health.

Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin took to the Late Late Show couch in September, where he criticised his opposition rival, noting that Varadkar “could do with more humility”.

Martin also stated that the Taoiseach is “obsessed” with the media.

“He operates differently,” said Martin when Ryan Tubridy attempted to contrast the two political figures.

“I think he’s very obsessed in terms of the media presentation. Everything is through the lens of how it’s perceived,” he added.
