The presenter also announced that he was taking ‘a break’ from his Virgin Radio UK show.

Virgin Radio UK host Ryan Tubridy has taken to Instagram to post a video in which he teases “big news” about an upcoming project.

Tubridy began work at the UK radio station at the start of the year, after months of speculation about what would be next for the presenter after his departure from RTÉ last summer in the wake of the broadcaster’s secret payments scandal.

In the new clip, Tubridy stated that he was taking a couple of days off from Virgin Radio UK but urged his followers to keep an eye on his Instagram in the week to come.

“Okay everybody, I am taking a few days off so I just wanted to let you know to keep an eye on all things Insta next week, towards the end of the week to be precise,” he said.

“I’ve got some big news coming, podcast-wise. So until then, mind yourselves, have a few days off and I’ll talk to you Thursday/Friday. See you soon.”

In the caption of the video, the former Late Late host also wrote: “We’re on a break! Stand by for podcast news late next week. Talk to you then,” before including two emojis – one of a radio and one of books.

While exact details of the podcast project are being kept under wraps, Tubridy did recently announce in a video wishing his social media followers a happy Easter that he was working on a “book podcast”.

He said in the clip: “I have some very good news about a book podcast that I’ve been working on that is coming to fruition very soon so stay tuned.

“Not just for book lovers but for people who are interested in stories in life through the prism of beautiful books.

“I’ll let you know in the next week or so all about that.”

In February, meanwhile, he revealed in a video – where the topic of books was also raised – that he was working on a “secret project” in London with Vogue Williams.
