He’s back.

And not before time, too.

Following a two-year break, Louis Theroux will return to our screens this winter with a brand new series.

The hit documentarian has been filming over in America and the fruit of his labours is set to debut on November on BBC Two, according to The Sun.

“I’ve got a series coming up, it’s coming out in November,” revealed Theroux at the National Lottery Awards over the weekend.

“I can’t say much about it, but it’s a three-parter and it’s set in America,” he added.

Theroux has been a regular fixture onscreen since the late 90s, first making waves with his Weird Weekends series.

His BBC Two specials have been airing since 2003, taking Theroux everywhere from maximum security prisons to the heart of American neo-Nazi movements to exploring the porn industry.

Details are being closely guarded for his new project, but he has dropped a few big names that he would like to sit down with.

“Trump would be amazing,” Theroux said.

“I always used to say R Kelly, because there were allegations over sexual misconduct.

“But I think BBC 3 might have done a documentary about some alleged sexual misdeeds so that horse might have bolted.

“I follow the Weinstein allegations avidly and I think there is something really interesting with that, but I haven’t figured out how you would get into it.”

Whatever subjects he’s chosen to cover this time, you can guarantee a typically must-see television event come November.
