We meet Owen Wilson to talk Cars 3, Wedding Crashers 2 and his own Irish history

Paul Moore

He’s so hot right now.

It’s time to get in top gear because Cars 3 has accelerated its way into Irish cinemas.

Not content with having one of the greatest voices of all time – something that our own Paul Moore was more than happy to talk about – Owen Wilson is loved by millions of fans around the world for his charismatic, quick-fire and colouful performance as the beloved Lightning McQueen.

Quite simply put, the Cars films are an absolute phenomenon and Pixar’s magic formula is at work again in Cars 3.

While younger generations will primarily know Wilson as the five-time Piston Cup champion, older film fans will appreciate the incredibly eclectic work that the Oscar-nominated actor has done alongside the likes of Wes Anderson and Ben Stiller.

We decided to get rev up our engine and head along to meet Lightning McQueen himself. Not only did we get find out why the ‘bad’ cars in the Cars franchise are ‘poopy heads’, but we also got his own opinion about who has the greatest voice in the world.

FYI, an Irish person ranks pretty highly on that list!

If you’re a fan of Wilson’s superb comedy Wedding Crashers then we also have the latest news on a sequel and a unique insight into his own Irish heritage.

Put the pedal to the metal and head to the nearest cinema because Cars 3 is in Irish cinemas now.

Trust us, you want even want to hit the brakes.
