Money Heist creator has a new murder mystery on Netflix and it sounds excellent

Season 3 of Money Heist is on the way and that’s not all.

When you think of shows that became an instant hit, you’ll go a long way to find a show that captivated the attention of audiences quite like La Casa de Papel, better known as Money Heist.

Right from the off, we were championing Álex Pina’s wonderful drama and with the show gearing up for its third season, Netflix have been very clever in tying down its creator.

As the success of shows like Narcos, Dark and Money Heist have shown, there’s an increasing demand for stories set in different locations and a new show from the Money Heist creator, White Lines, sounds like a nightmare for anyone who has ever gone partying in Spain.

The official synopsis states: “When the body of a legendary Manchester DJ is discovered 20 years after his mysterious disappearance from Ibiza, his sister returns to the beautiful Spanish island to find out what happened.

Her investigation will lead her through a thrilling world of dance clubs, lies and cover-ups, forcing her to confront the darker sides of her own character in a place where people live life on the edge.

Murder on the dancefloor? We’re intrigued.

Written by Money Heist (La Casa de Papel) creator Álex Pina, who will also serve as showrunner, the series has started filming in the Balearic Islands.

Laura Haddock (Guardians of the Galaxy, Transformers: The Last Knight) is playing the lead role and she’ll be joined by Marta Milans (Shazam, The Pier), Juan Diego Botto (Good Behavior), Nuno Lopes (Saint George, Lines of Wellington), Daniel Mays (The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Laurence Fox (Victoria, Lewis) and Angela Griffin (Turn Up Charlie, The Detail).

There will be 10 episodes in the series and they’ll all be an hour long.

If White Lines proves to be half as popular as Money Heist, we’re certain that Netflix will be onto another winner.
