#TRAILERCHEST: J-Law teams up with the director of Black Swan for out-and-out horror Mother
"God. Help. You."
Welcome to #TrailerChest, where we're taking a sneak peek at the brand new trailer for Mother!
Plot's it all about? This is just the teaser trailer, so it goes pretty light on plot details, but the mood it evokes is undeniable... Pure. Horror.
From what we've gathered, J-Law and Javier Bardem are in a relationship and enjoying some quiet down-time together when some unexpected guests arrive (we're guessing it is Pfeiffer and Harris) and begin pushing some buttons.
We're not quite sure where the Gleeson brothers tie in to this (there is a glimpse of what looks like one of them violently attacking the other from behind), or where usual funny-person Wiig slots into it all, but we're sure that the writer/director of Black Swan, The Wrestler, Requiem For A Dream and Noah will ensure that it will freak us right out.
Plus, with all of this prestige talent involved, this could be the horror movie that gets back on the Oscar-voters radar. Something to think about while we wait for the full trailer, which is due to arrive on 8 Aug.
Starring: Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem, Michelle Pfeiffer, Ed Harris, Domhnall Gleeson, Brian Gleeson, Kristen Wiig.
Directed by: Darren Aranofksy
Irish release date: 15 September
