Our main pick for the evening is The Grand Budapest Hotel, the fantastic comedy by Wes Anderson, which scored 92% on Rotten Tomatoes. Mostly set within the confines of the titular hotel, the insanely stacked cast includes Ralph Fiennes, Tilda Swinton, Adrien Brody, Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Saoirse Ronan, Willem Dafoe, Owen Wilson, Harvey Keitel and Jeff Goldblum. If you miss it on TV this evening, The Grand Budapest Hotel is also available to watch on Disney+.Minority Report - Channel 4 - 11.05pm When this recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, we called it Spielberg's best movie. Jackass 3.5 - Comedy Central - 11.15pm The third of the Jackass movies, but with point five more footage than the cinematic release. Splice - FilmFour - 11.20pm Adrian Brody and Sarah Polley star in this sci-fi horror about scientists who create a new lifeform, only for it to have it violently turn on them.
Halloween II - Sky Sci-Fi - 11.20pm The first Halloween part two from 1981, not to be confused with the second Halloween part two in 2009, or the third Halloween part two in 2021. Money Plane - Legend - 11.30pm Features the classic line "If you wanna bet on a dude f*cking an alligator... Money Plane." A terrible action movie. But still weirdly fun. The Turning - BBC One - 11.50pm A not very good horror movie with that kid from Stranger Things. 12% on Rotten Tomatoes. Avoid. The Hope Gap - RTÉ One - 12.45am A decent romantic drama starring Annette Bening and Bill Nighy, telling the story of a woman who has her life turned upside down when her husband reveals that after 29 years of marriage, he is leaving her for another woman. Sputnik - FilmFour - 1am A very good Russian horror movie about a scientist who is sent to investigate a cosmonaut who may not have returned to Earth entirely alone. Bad Hair - Channel 4 - 1.50am A horror movie about sentient hair. Better than that sounds, tbh.
