This 2020 satirical horror sees Stranger Things’ Joe Keery play a social media-obsessed rideshare driver who begins to livestream himself murdering his passengers in a bid to go viral.

The Perfect Storm – Turner Classic Movies – 9pm

A biographical disaster drama starring George Clooney and Mark Wahlberg.

Peppermint – Virgin Media One – 9pm

Jennifer Garner is out for vengeance in this vigilante action thriller from the director of Taken.

The Titan – Legend – 9pm

Avatar’s Sam Worthington leads the cast of this sci-fi thriller about a family in the near future who participates in an experiment into man’s genetic evolution in space.

Comes a Horseman – TG4 – 9.30pm

Friday nights mean Westerns on TG4, with this one from the ’70s and starring Jane Fonda, James Caan and Jason Robards.

Walk the Line – RTÉ One – 9.35pm

Joaquin Phoenix is Johnny Cash and Reese Witherspoon is June Carter in this acclaimed musical biopic.

The Bucket List – RTÉ2 – 9.45pm

A comedy-drama following two terminally ill men (Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman) who head off on a road trip with a wish list of to-dos before they die.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier – BBC One – 10.40pm

Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) uncovers a conspiracy within the spy agency S.H.I.E.L.D. in this well-regarded MCU flick.

Get Out – Film4 – 10.50pm

With Nope now in cinemas, what better time is there to revisit its director Jordan Peele’s now modern classic debut?

My Super Ex-Girlfriend – MTV – 11pm

In this comedy, a regular guy (Luke Wilson) breaks up with his superhero girlfriend (Uma Thurman), after which she uses her powers to make his life a living hell.

No One Lives – Legend – 11.05pm

A gang of ruthless highway killers kidnaps a wealthy couple (one of which is played by Luke Evans) travelling cross country only to discover things are not what they seem in this violent horror thriller.

The Way We Were – Great! Movies Classic – 11.15pm

Barbra Streisand and Robert Redford star in what’s considered one of the great romantic films.

Magnum Force – Turner Classic Movies – 11.40pm

Clint Eastwood returns as Dirty Harry in this sequel, this time on the trail of vigilante police officers who are not above going beyond the law to kill the city’s undesirables.

Broken Law – RTÉ One – 12.05am

Our pick for tonight, this Irish movie with a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes focuses on a respected Garda (Tristian Heanue) who gets his loyalty to the law tested by his ex-convict brother (Graham Earley) who is in desperate need of his help.

Also featuring amongst its cast recognisable Irish actors like Gary Lydon, Gemma-Leah Devereux, John Connors and Ryan Lincoln, Broken Law is an excellent homegrown crime thriller that benefits from great use of Dublin locations, a strong cast and a screenplay filled with intriguing moral dilemmas.

Brawl in Cell Block 99 – Channel 4 – 12.15am

It’s Vince Vaughn like you’ve never seen him before in this incredibly tense and violent prison-set thriller.
