Our pick for tonight is 2017 Irish drama Michael Inside

Ouija: Origin of Evil – MTV – 11pm

Not only is this prequel to the supernatural horror Ouija directed by Mike Flanagan (Midnight Mass) much, much better than the original, it is one of the best horrors of recent years.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day – ITV4 – 11.05pm

Director James Cameron helms what is arguably the best Terminator movie.

Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa – Comedy Central – 11.10pm

Jackass’ Johnny Knoxville stars in this hidden camera comedy.

Absolute Power – Turner Classic Movies – 11.20pm

Clint Eastwood directs and stars in this political action thriller about a master jewel thief who witnesses the killing of a woman by Secret Service agents.

Four Lions – Film4 – 11.35pm

This acclaimed political satire black comedy centres around four incompetent British terrorists.

Michael Inside – RTÉ One – 11.40pm

Last but not least is our pick for tonight – this Irish drama about a teenager (Dafhyd Flynn) who, after getting caught holding drugs for a friend, is sentenced to three months in prison.

Released in 2017 to rave reviews and a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score, Michael Inside’s societal commentary, tense story, documentary-like realism and stunning performances from Flynn, Lalor Roddy and Moe Dunford make it one of the best Irish films of the last few years and maybe ever.
