Movies on TV Monday 11 October

Monday, baby!

Movies, baby!

We’ve gone through the listings.

We’ve got movies on the brain.

Here’s how it looks on Monday, 11 October…

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade – Film4 – 6.25pm

The third one.

Quantum of Solace – ITV4 – 9pm

Daniel Craig’s second outing as James Bond is often criticised for being a bit of a mess but honestly it works very well if you treat it as Casino Royale 1.5.

The Little Stranger – Film4 – 9pm

Underseen gothic drama directed by Lenny Abrahamson in which a doctor (Domnhall Gleeson) visits an old house where his mother used to work only to find it holds a dark secret.

Ruth Wilson, Will Poulter and Charlotte Rampling co-star.

Passenger 57 – Turner Classic Movies / TCM – 9pm

Wesley Snipes encounters terrorist trouble at 35,000 feet.

The Glass Castle – TG4 – 9.30pm

Sensitive biographical drama telling the nomadic life story of American journalist Jeannette Walls.

Brie Larson, Woody Harrelson, Naomi Watts and Succession‘s Sarah Snook head up the cast.

End of Days – ITV4 – 11.15pm

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s burnt-out former detective battles Gabriel Byrne’s devilish supernatural villain as armageddon itself draws near.

Crawl – Film4 – 11.15pm

Our main pick this evening has been compared to a 21st century riff on Jaws, by at least one member of the JOE team.

Look, it’s not as good as Jaws, but what is? 2019’s Crawl, however, is a lot of good horror fun.

Kaya Scodelario – soon to be seen in Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City – stars as an aspiring swimmer who has to use all her skills to fend off an outbreak of alligators during a flood in her hometown.

Barry Pepper and lots of CGI reptiles co-star.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
