A star-studded sports thriller is among the movies on TV tonight

Stephen Porzio

The Fan

From the director of Man on Fire and True Romance, the underseen film stars Robert De Niro.

Staying in this evening? Already watched the brutal horror remake and unsettling murder mystery on Netflix that we recommended?

Not to worry as here are the movies on TV this Saturday night (10 February):

The Fan – Legend – 9pm

Our pick for tonight is this 1996 movie about an all star baseball player (Wesley Snipes) that becomes the unhealthy focus of a down on his luck salesman (Robert De Niro).

Directed with style by the great Tony Scott (Man on Fire, True Romance) and also featuring amongst its cast Benicio Del Toro, Ellen Barkin and John Leguizamo, The Fan puts an entertaining sports twist on stalker thrillers like Fatal Attraction, The Hand that Rocks the Cradle and Single White Female.

As well as airing on TV, it is also available to rent on Apple TV+ and Rakuten TV.
