Movies on TV Thursday 18 April

The long weekend is almost here.

You can taste it.

But don’t get carried away just yet, it’s still Thursday.

For now, we’ll dive into some cinematic options that take place on the box on this very evening.

Let’s do this.

Hell or High Water – Film 4 – 9pm

Chris Pine and Ben Foster are a pair of brothers in small town Texas who decide to rob banks when the government decides to foreclose their family ranch.

Jeff Bridges is the grizzled lawman on their tail. One of the best films of the past few years.

The Shawshank Redemption – ITV4 – 9pm

Get busy living or get busy dying.

Daredevil – SyFy – 9pm

Before he was The Dark Knight, Ben Affleck became The Man Without Fear in this very of its time – Evanescence on the soundtrack! – superhero flick.

At least Colin Farrell knows what kind of movie he’s in, anyway.

The Bank Job – TCM – 11pm

Jason Statham leads the way on a slow-burn heist.

Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping – Film 4 – 11.05pm

Andy Samberg’s over-the-top satire of the music industry is hit and miss, never quite living up to that great title, but it has plenty of moments that do a fine job taking the piss out of your favourite pop stars.

Lethal Weapon 3 – ITV4 – 11.55pm

The magic is back… again.

That’s the actual tagline for this movie.

Starsky & Hutch – ITV2 – 12.20am

Stiller. Wilson. Remake.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
