If it’s action you’re looking for, there’s no shortage of it tonight.

Monday. The start of another week in isolation, but look on the bright side, there are only six days to fill until you’re munching on Easter eggs with a Bank Holiday to look forward to. Granted, Bank Holidays aren’t much different from regular days at the moment, but we’ll take any crumb of comfort we can get. Speaking of crumbs, there have been better evenings as far as the selection of movies on TV are concerned, but there are one or two below that will easily eat up a couple of hours. The Day The Earth Stood Still – Film 4 - 5.55pm We love Keanu Reeves and all, but Point Break, Speed or John Wick this certainly ain’t. Man of Steel – Sky One – 8pm Henry Cavill’s first outing as Clark Kent, featuring Amy Adams, Kevin Costner and Russell Crowe amongst others in a star-studded cast, is a solid effort at best. Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation – Film 4 – 8pm Now we’re talkin’. Tom Cruise is in top form in arguably the best of all the Mission: Impossible movies. Some of the action sequences - especially one with Cruise hanging out of an airplane – are so spectacular as to be barely believable, but you will be on the edge of your seat throughout. The Girl on The Train – RTÉ 2 – 9pm Emily Blunt is excellent; the movie overall, sadly, is average at best. The Krays – ITV4 – 9pm Brilliant drama about the notorious London gangster family, first released all the way back in 1990. Revolver – TG4 – 9.30pm A pissed-off Jason Statham out for revenge you say? Sounds like perfect pre-bedtime filler to us.
