Movies on TV Tuesday 19 October

Tuesday.

You might need a movie or two today, given the weird weather and formal Government announcement vibes.

Let’s see what’s in store on Tuesday, 19 October…

Central Intelligence – Film4 – 6.50pm

The Rock and Kevin Hart team up for an action comedy.

Austin Powers in Goldmember – Comedy Central – 9pm

The third one.

Olympus Has Fallen – Film4 – 9pm

Gerard Butler’s gruff secret service man lays it all on the line to save the US President following a terrorist occupation of the White House.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 – Sky Showcase – 9.45pm

The adventure that killed Andrew Garfield’s run as Spider-Man – unless, of course, he shows up in No Way Home, as has been heavily rumoured.

A wild mess of a Saturday morning cartoon; TASM2 throws Spidey into battle against no less than three villains as the stakes raise higher and higher to the point that the film can’t sustain any tension whatsoever.

Fun enough, in that pretty bad sort of way.

Zombieland – Comedy Central – 10.50pm

Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson and Abigal Breslin deal with an undead problem.

The Last King of Scotland – Film4 – 11.20pm

Our main pick this evening is worth staying up for, or at the very least setting the record button for.

Forest Whitaker won the Best Actor Oscar for his incredibly energetic and often scary turn here as Idi Amin; murderous dictator of 1970s Uganda.

James McAvoy is in support as his trusted but terrified doctor and confidante, looking to escape Amin’s brutal regime in one piece.
