Movies on TV Wednesday 20 October

Wednesday.

The middle of the week.

The movies on TV.

Here’s how it looks on Wednesday, 20 October…

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – Film4 – 6.55pm

The (mostly) live-action 2014 reboot.

First Blood – ITV4 – 9pm

Vietnam veteran John Rambo escapes from remorseless lawmen and the hunt is on.

On Deadly Ground – Turner Classic Movies – 9pm

Steven Seagal is on deadly ground.

BlacKkKlansman – Film4 – 9pm

Spike Lee directs John David Washington in this simultaneously dramatic and comedic account of Ron Stallworth’s attempts to infiltrate and expose the Ku Klux Klan.

Aquarium of the Dead – SyFy – 9pm

I mean, with a name like that it has to be… terrible, probably?

Carlito’s Way – ITV4 – 11.05pm

Our main choice for you this evening.

Al Pacino’s gangster tries to go straight following his release from prison only to become once again embroiled in a dangerous life of crime, largely thanks to Sean Penn’s crooked lawyer.

Brian De Palma directs with his signature grime, Al Pacino acts his heart out.

Street Kings – TCM – 11.10pm

Corrupt cop Keanu Reeves goes up against even badder guys in one of David Ayer’s many grim odes to gang violence in otherwise sunny Los Angeles.

Terminator: Genisys – Film4 – 11.40pm

Fun when the new T-1000 shows up. Not fun after that.

Point Blank – TCM – 1.25am

An outstanding film noir classic that’s on in the dead of night, helpfully.

Army of Darkness – Film4 – 2.05am

The third Evil Dead film, which probably makes more sense at this time of night.

Sinister 2 – Channel 4 – 2.45am

Seriously, what are we doing with these times!
