Hey, it’s the middle of the week.
How about that?
Reward yourself with a movie or two.
Here’s what we have for you on Wednesday, 5 October…
The Post – Film4 – 6.45pm
Spielberg! Hanks! Streep! Journalism!
Nothing says ‘a quarter to seven on a Wednesday evening’ more than a political thriller in which The Washington Post takes on the US government over a Vietnam War scandal, now does it?
John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum – Film4 – 9pm
Our main pick this evening is a violent delight.
Keanu Reeves dons his sharpest killing suit for the third time as the titular assassin finds time – and friends – desperately running out.
With a significant price on his head and numerous charismatic villains closing in, can John Wick stay alive? You wouldn’t cross him, we’ll say that much.
The Matrix Revolutions – ITV4 – 10pm
More Keanu!
The conclusion – until December, anyway – to the Matrix trilogy sees Zion under attack from their greatest enemies – dodgy CGI, dull set pieces and an overwritten script.
Let’s hope Resurrections is an improvement on this, eh?
Selma – BBC Two – 11.15pm
Powerful drama focusing on the life and work of Dr Martin Luther King Jr, as brought to life by director Ava DuVernay and a stunning performance from David Oyelowo.
Four Weddings and a Funeral – Film4 – 11.35pm
The only possible way to relax after a John Wick movie, quite frankly.
Solace – Channel 4 – 2.45am?
Still awake at nearly three in the morning?
Enjoy a dreadful Se7en rip-off with Colin Farrell and Anthony Hopkins.
LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
