The long-delayed sequel sees the aliens return with a bigger ship and more destruction, and only most of the kids of most of the original movie's stars can save us!

Denzel Washington is as watchable as ever in this decent action-thriller.

Ben Is Back - RTÉ2 - 9pm

A powerful drama about a young man (Lucas Hedges) who suddenly arrives at his mother's (Julia Roberts) front door on Christmas Eve, much to the surprise of the entire family, as his history of drug addiction has a strong triggering impact on them all.

The Meg - Comedy Central - 9pm

Our pick of the night is this absolutely bonkers blockbuster. Jason Statham is one of the world's best deep sea divers, but he's dealing with a tragic backstory after a submarine full of scientists were killed by a mysterious creature at the bottom of the ocean.

Years later, that creature appears to have returned and has taken aim at a super expensive underwater science lab... which also happens to be where his ex-wife works.

Predator - ITV4 - 10pm

Arnie headlines one of the greatest mixes of action and horror ever captured on film.

The Last Right - BBC One - 11.30pm

A decent Irish comedy drama in which a man (Game of Thrones star Michiel Huisman) suddenly finds himself charged with finding the perfect burial spot for a man he never even met before.
