Naomie Harris talks about her 28 Days Later co-star Cillian Murphy becoming the next James Bond

Rory Cashin

We caught up with the Oscar-nominated actress in the lead up to the release of one of 2018’s biggest blockbusters.

Naomie Harris has had quite the career.

Sexy heist movies with Pierce Brosnan (After The Sunset), big budget blockbusters with Johnny Depp (Pirates Of The Caribbean), dark and murkily stylish thrillers with Colin Farrell (Miami Vice), not one but two Bond outings as the new Moneypenny (Skyfall and Spectre), and a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination with Moonlight.

It all kicked off with 28 Days Later, which came up in conversation during our chats with the hugely talented actress for her latest behemoth Rampage, in which she co-stars with Dwayne Johnson.

It was recently announced that Danny Boyle would be directing the next Bond outing, who also previously directed 28 Days Later, in which Naomie Harris co-starred with our own Cillian Murphy, so we had to ask how she felt about him potentially taking on the suit, the gun and the love of a dry martini as the next Bond.

Additionally, we chatted about getting hit in the face with a chair during a stunt in her new movie, how hard it is to act opposite a tennis ball, and what her favourite movie monsters of all time are.

We here in JOE really enjoyed Rampage, and you can hear our full review in the latest episode of The Big Reviewski, which you can check out at the very bottom of the page.

We were also lucky enough to have a sit-down with the movie’s biggest star (no, not the gorilla), Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, which you can check out right here.

The movie is in cinemas right now, and in case you’ve missed it, here is the trailer for you to enjoy:
