Netflix has just added a hit British crime drama series

The perfect new crime drama to get stuck into.

The series stars Nicola Walker as DI Annika Strandhed, a sharp-witted detective who heads up a specialist Marine Homicide Unit investigating unusual and brutal murders across Scotland.

Each episode follows Annika and her team as they tackle a new case, with plenty of twists, dark humour and stunning Scottish scenery along the way.

The show is a little different from your standard crime drama, with Annika regularly breaking the fourth wall to speak directly to the audience and share her thoughts on the cases she's investigating.

The series also follows her complicated relationship with her teenage daughter Morgan, played by Silvie Furneaux.

Jamie Sives, Katie Leung and Ukweli Roach also star in the series, which originally aired on Alibi before moving to BBC One.

Both seasons are now available to watch on Netflix, so if you're looking for something new to binge, Annika could be worth adding to the list.
