Just in time to get you into the Christmas spirit!

The great thing about The Nightmare Before Christmas is that it is both a great Halloween movie, and a great Christmas movie. But for this very special event, it is perfectly lining itself up to get you in the mood for Christmas!

In case you’re unaware, the film follows the earnest-but-misguided adventures of Jack Skellington, Halloween Town’s beloved Pumpkin King, as he attempts to take over the Christmas holiday.

First released in 1993, the movie was directed by Henry Selick (who also gave us James and the Giant Peach), and was based on a story and characters by Tim Burton.

In the movie, the singing voices for Jack, his lonely rag doll friend Sally, and the villainous Oogie Boogie, were voiced by Danny Elfman, Catherine O’Hara, and Ken Page respectively, and for this very special event, they’ll all be heading to Dublin.

They’ll be performing their singing parts live as the movie plays out on the big screen in the 3Arena on Sunday 8 December, and they’ll be accompanied by conductor John Mauceri, the founding director of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, as he leads the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and accompanying choir, as they also perform the film’s classic score and songs live to picture.

Tickets are available to buy right now, and in case you needed a little reminder, here is a taster from one of the musical numbers in the movie:
