While it received mixed reviews upon its release, the film has garnered a bit of a cult following.

With movies like John Wick, Point Break, Speed and The Matrix, Keanu Reeves’ filmography is very impressive.

That said, if you’re looking for a flick starring the actor that JOE previously described as “massively underrated”, you can check out Constantine, which has just been added to Netflix.

Based on DC’s Hellblazer comic book, the 2005 film sees Reeves play the title character of John Constantine, a cynical exorcist in Los Angeles who teams up with a policewoman (Rachel Weisz) to investigate her twin sister’s death.

In the process, he discovers that demons are trying to break through to the human world.

Directed by Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend) and featuring a stacked supporting cast including Djimon Hounsou, Peter Stormare, Shia LaBeouf and Tilda Swinton, Constantine received mixed reviews upon its release.

That said, while it currently holds a 46% score on Rotten Tomatoes, it has gone on to garner a bit of a cult following since it came out, perhaps on account of its talented ensemble and much darker tone than most other superhero movies.

In recent years, there have even been rumours of a Constantine sequel, with Reeves telling Variety in 2019 that he’s still interested in reprising the character.

“I’ve always wanted to play John Constantine again. I just love that world… and I love that character,” the Hollywood icon said.

Having recently starred in Bill & Ted Face the Music and with The Matrix Resurrections due for a release later this month, Keanu is no stranger to appearing in long-awaited sequels.

Perhaps, he can make Constantine 2 a reality.

Until then, however, the 2005 Constantine is available to watch on Netflix in Ireland.

It’s streaming alongside one of the best Irish films ever made, The Killing of a Sacred Deer, which was added to the service earlier in the week.
