Robert Pattinson’s Batman has met his match, as the movie finally finds its Riddler

Rudi Kinsella

Paul Dano

This movie is shaping up to be quite interesting.

Paul Dano has reportedly been cast as The Riddler in the upcoming movie The Batman.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dano’s version of the character will be named Edward Nashton.

Reports initially suggested that Jonah Hill was in line to play the villain in the movie where Robert Pattinson will play Batman, but this has since been dismissed.

Dano, who you might recognise from 12 Years A Slave, There Will Be Blood and Little Miss Sunshine, will play The Riddler, who has previously been played by Jim Carrey.

Over the weekend, it was confirmed that Zoë Kravitz is going to play Catwoman, and Jeffrey Wright (Westworld, Casino Royale) as Commission Gordon.

This is going to be good.

Director Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes) has already said that The Batman will be less of an action movie, and will focus more on a world where Bruce Wayne is regularly referred to as the World’s Greatest Detective.

Off the back of the success of Todd Phillips’ Joker, expectations will be high for Reeves’ adaptation of the classic character.

We expect to see The Batman fly into Irish cinemas in June 2021, and we are buzzing for it.
