PIC: Mark Hamill inevitably fell in love with smokey bacon Tayto during his time in Ireland

But of course he did.

After weeks of filming in Donegal, Kerry and elsewhere, the Star Wars cast and crew are bidding farewell to Ireland, hopefully only temporarily before a return for the final episode of this particular trilogy, which began with the release of The Force Awakens late last year.

It’s fair to say that the cast and crew have enjoyed their stay in these parts.

They were sipping pints and joining in on trad sessions in Donegal, they got a lovely welcome in Cork Airport and Adam Driver got on great with the locals with when visiting WK Fitness in Kerry.

Mark Hamill, AKA Luke Skywalker, took a shine to the landscape in Donegal during his stay in the hills and it obviously didn’t take him long to appreciate one of Ireland’s greatest culinary feats, judging by a post on Twitter earlier today.

You may get a batch of it shipped out on your return to the States Mark; Irish ex-pats have been doing it for generations.
