The tweet was sent on Monday…
There was outrage online on Monday night when former footballer and current actor Vinne Jones appeared to post a grisly photo on Twitter of 100 foxes which had been shot dead.
The picture was accompanied with the line “A real night lamping #foxes anyone beat this?”
The photo was deleted a short while later, but was met with anger from animal rights campaigners and members of the public who reacted strongly to the graphic image.
Jones took to Twitter to stress that he had been hacked, saying he had not sent that picture himself, and he did not take the photo.
He said that research had found the image was taken and uploaded to the internet from Australia.

Warning, the image below contains graphic content which some readers may find disturbing.
Jones, who lives in Los Angeles but has a country cottage in the UK, is an avid lover of hunting and has posted images of himself and his catches in the past, but never anything near this scale.
In a previous interview with Shooting UK, Jones said: “I love pigeon shooting — building the hide, putting the decoys out.
“Lamping is probably my favourite. I’ve spent a lot of money on customising my Land Rover for lamping. If the farmer has a fox problem I love going out and dealing with it for him.”
