PICS: The stars of Star Wars are in Ireland right now and it has huge implications for the plot of Episode VIII

Carl Kinsella

If you haven’t seen Star Wars Episode VII and you don’t want to know how it ends, then close this tab right now.

The Force Awakens, the most recent instalment of the Star Wars saga, ends with Force-user Rey journeying to find the exiled Luke Skywalker on Skellig Michael (it isn’t called that in the film).

Up until now, we’ve all believed that the filming taking place in Ireland would all centre around Luke training Rey as Yoda once trained him…

However, the stars of Star Wars have arrived in Ireland this afternoon and there’s one arrival that could have huge, unexpected implications for the plot of Star Wars Episode VIII.

Mark Hamill and Daisy Ridley were snapped disembarking a plane… But a more suspicious, secretive character was snapped along with them. Adam Driver, the actor playing the Sith Kylo Ren – Darth Vader’s grandson and the offspring of Han Solo and Princess Leia, was also papped while pulling his hood over his face.

He’s been bested by Rey once before and we don’t imagine that his feelings towards her, or his uncle Luke, are too warm. Could we be in for a Star Wars showdown shot in Ireland? It looks like it.
