"When the plan goes horribly wrong, she's forced to team up with a pair of misfits, Frank (Ben Hardy, Mary Shelley) and Harland (Daryl McCormack, Wake Up Dead Man), who are clearly in over their heads," the plot synopsis adds.
"On the run from a criminal gang of priests and nuns (led by Alec Baldwin, The Departed), the trio tries to scheme and swindle anyone they come across."
While the movie is low on substance and derivative of the likes of Guy Ritchie and Quentin Tarantino, it's held together by Olivia Cooke's megawatt charm as Pixie.
Also, parts of it are funny, and it is unique to see one of these starry crime comedies take place in rural Ireland.
Pixie is airing on TV tonight/tomorrow morning on Film4 at 1.35am. It will also be available to stream on Channel 4's website from Wednesday, 2 September.

Our TV movie pick for tonight (Tuesday, 1 September) is Pixie, a fun Ireland-set comedy crime thriller.
The 2020 film follows the title character (Olivia Cooke - The Girlfriend, Slow Horses), a pragmatic young woman from a small rural Irish town who sets out to avenge her mother's death and attempt a heist. With the money from the theft, Pixie plans to escape to San Francisco.
Directed by Barnaby Thompson (St. Trinian's), Pixie boasts an impressive ensemble cast. This includes Colm Meaney (The Galway Bay Murders) as the lead character's gangster father, as well as Chris Walley (Lies We Tell), David Rawle (Moone Boy), Dylan Moran (Good Vibrations), Fra Fee (The Last Photograph), Ned Dennehy (Calm with Horses), Packy Lee (Tall Tales & Murder), and Pat Shortt (Garage).
