In this musical fantasy starring the late Olivia Newton-John, a beautiful muse inspires an artist and his older friend to convert a dilapidated auditorium into a lavish rollerskating club.
The Nightingale – Film4 – 11.20pm
Our pick for tonight is this gripping Western thriller set in 19th-century Australia.
It centres around a young Irish convict named Clare (an incredible Aisling Franciosi) as she chases a British officer (Sam Claflin) through the rugged Tasmanian wilderness in order to seek revenge for the terrible acts he committed against her and her family.
On the way, she enlists the services of an Aboriginal tracker named Billy (Baykali Ganambarr), a man also marked by trauma from his own violence-filled past.
From writer-director Jennifer Kent (The Babadook), The Nightingale caused quite a stir upon its release in 2018 due to its scenes of extreme violence.
That said, the movie is very much seeking to expose the horrors of colonialism, while telling an emotional and powerful story about the friendship that develops between the oppressed Billy and Clare.
American Made – Channel 4 – 11.20pm
Tom Cruise plays a pilot who gets way in over his head after being recruited by the CIA (represented by Domhnall Gleeson) in this very fun crime comedy.

The Condemned – Turner Classic Movies – 11.50pm
‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin and Vinnie Jones star in this violent action flick about ten convicts forced to fight each other to the death as part of an illegal game that is being broadcast to the public.
