About My Father Starring comedian Sebastian Maniscalco as himself, the movie sees Sebastian bring his immigrant hairdresser father (Robert De Niro) to a weekend get-together with his fiancée and her super-rich and exceedingly eccentric family (Anders Holm, David Rasche and Kim Cattrall). The Amityville Horror The remake with Ryan Reynolds, not the classic original. Berlin Syndrome This excellent, very tense thriller centres on an Australian backpacker (Teresa Palmer) in Berlin who is held captive in the apartment of a man (Max Riemelt) she had a night of romance with. Bull Durham One of Kevin Costner's many beloved sports movies. Class of 1984 In this cult '80s thriller, a new teacher (Perry King) at a troubled inner-city high school soon ends up clashing with a delinquent punk posse who run the institute with an iron fist. Cold Weather This low-budget indie mystery about a former forensic science student investigating the disappearance of his ex-girlfriend is a hidden gem. Desperate Hours Director Michael Cimino (The Deer Hunter) helms this thriller remake about an escaped con (Mickey Rourke) on the run from the law who invades the home of a bickering couple (Anthony Hopkins and Mimi Rogers) on the brink of divorce. Enemy at the Gates Jude Law and Joseph Fiennes star in this war film which depicts the events surrounding the Battle of Stalingrad in the winter of 1942–1943. The Equalizer 2 The second entry in the very solid Denzel Washington-led action thriller trilogy. Foe Starring Paul Mescal and Saoirse Ronan, Foe was one of 2023's biggest sci-fi thrillers. Fool's Paradise It's Always Sunny's Charlie Day writes, directs and leads the cast of this star-studded comedy as a mute man who becomes an accidental celebrity only to lose it all. While the movie has a low 18% Rotten Tomatoes score, Sunny fans may be curious to check out Day's directorial debut. Frances Ha With Barbie currently a big contender during awards season, why not check out this wonderful comedy-drama co-written by and starring Greta Gerwig? She plays a woman in her 20s in New York struggling to maintain her dream of being a dancer, as well as her relationship with her best friend. Adam Driver is also in the movie. Freelance A new action comedy starring Alison Brie and John Cena from the director of Taken. His Girl Friday The incredible and legendary '40s screwball comedy starring Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell. Homefront This solid action thriller revolves around a retired DEA agent and single father (Jason Statham) who moves himself and his daughter to a small Louisiana town in the hopes of a peaceful life. There, however, he winds up becoming entangled in a feud with a local drug dealer (James Franco). The Last Waltz The beloved Martin Scorsese-directed concert film about The Band. Locke This extremely tense drama sees Tom Hardy play a family man and successful construction manager whose life begins to fall apart over the course of a car journey. My Name is Emily Harry Potter's Evanna Lynch stars in this acclaimed Irish drama as a 16-year-old who runs away from her foster home. Out of Time Denzel Washington stars again, this time in a mystery thriller as a Florida police chief who must solve a vicious double homicide before he himself falls under suspicion. Patriot's Day Mark Wahlberg headlines this action thriller revolving around the Boston Marathon bombings in 2013 and the subsequent terrorist manhunt.
