Prime Video has quietly added 12 big movies to its library

Rory Cashin

Prime Video

One of the Prime Video additions is one of the very best thrillers of the 21st century so far.

Prime Video has added some war epics, international dramas and an exclusive rom-com to their streaming service this week.

BEE MOVIE

Jerry Seinfeld voices a bee that falls in love with a human woman (voiced by Renée Zellweger) in this odd animated movie.

BLENDED

Third time is not the charm for Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, as this rom-com is nowhere near as good as The Wedding Singer or 50 First Dates.

DITCHED

When a prison transfer crashes, a paramedic and the prisoners on board find themselves attacked by unseen forces in the Canadian forest. 62% on Rotten Tomatoes means it could be halfway decent.

HACKSAW RIDGE

Mel Gibson’s tremendous World War II epic tells the story of a soldier (Andrew Garfield) who wants to serve for his country, but his religious beliefs means he refuses to carry a weapon on the battlefield.

THE LONG NIGHT

A young couple on a road trip have their lives turned upside down by the sudden arrival of an apocalyptic cult.

MISS SLOANE

Jessica Chastain headlines this drama thriller, playing a lobbyist who attempts to pass a gun legislation, only for her opponents to dig too deep into her personal life.

NEVER BACK DOWN

Upon arriving at a new school, an angry young man (Sean Faris) discovers there is an underground fight club there. A ridiculous movie, co-starring Cam Gigagnet and Amber Heard, but entertaining despite itself. And to date, it has received three sequels. And we checked, Prime Video has not added any of them.

NOW YOU SEE ME 2

The first movie in this magicians-as-robbers series is not available on Prime Video (but it is on Netflix). We’ll never, ever forgive the makers for not naming it Now You Don’t.

PRISONERS

A truly brilliant thriller about a father (Hugh Jackman) who goes to some extreme lengths to find his kidnapped daughter. From the director of Arrival and Dune, with a stellar supporting cast including Viola Davis, Paul Dano, Maria Bello and Terrence Howard, this truly is one of the best thrillers of the 21st century.

PS I LOVE YOU

Gerard Butler is the “Irish” love of Hilary Swank’s life in this much-adored rom-com. We actually chatted to Butler about the role and his memories of the movie for its 15th anniversary, and you can check that out right here:

RED, WHITE AND ROYAL BLUE

A Prime Video exclusive! The son of the US President and the son of the King of England strike up a secret romance. Uma Thurman and Stephen Fry play the country leaders, and with a score of 80% on Rotten Tomatoes, this does seem like a pretty cute rom-com.

WELL

A pretty odd Hungarian drama, taking place over three days at a remote filling station.
