Prime Video has just added 42 huge movies to its library

Among the new additions, Prime Video has added literally some of the greatest movies ever made!

This list is long enough without me blabbering on at the start of it, so let us just get to the good stuff, yeah? Here is the list...

12 YEARS A SLAVE

This powerful drama won the Best Picture Oscar and features an absolutely incredible cast including Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Fassbender, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Dano, Paul Giamatti, Lupita Nyong'o, Sarah Paulson, Brad Pitt, Michael Kenneth Williams and Alfre Woodard.

BAYWATCH

The big budget action comedy remake, with The Rock and Zac Efron. It isn't great.

BLOOD DIAMOND

Leonardo DiCaprio, Djimon Hounsou and Jennifer Connolly star in this well-made war drama.

COLORS

Dennis Hopper directs Sean Penn and Robert Duvall in this 1988 cop thriller set within a racially-charged LA.

DETROIT

The director of The Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty turns her attention to the incident that sparked the infamous 1967 12th Street riot. Another impressive cast including John Boyega, Will Poulter, Kaitlyn Dever, Jack Reynor, John Krasinski and Anthony Mackie.

DRESSED TO KILL

One of the landmark erotic psychological thrillers from the 1980s, with Brian De Palma directing with slick style, and a cast including Michael Caine, Nancy Allen and Angie Dickinson.

FINAL DESTINATION

Prime Video has also added Final Destination 2, Final Destination 3 and Final Destination 5. So you can do four-fifths of a Final Destination marathon, as the fourth one - annoyingly titled The Final Destination - is currently only available on Netflix.

FRUITVALE STATION

Michael B. Jordan headlines this powerful drama, telling the true story of a young man who has the direction of his entire life changed by taking the train home.

THE GODFATHER PART II

According to the public vote on IMDb, it is the fourth best movie of all time.

THE GODFATHER CODA: THE DEATH OF MICHAEL CORLEONE

Director Francis Ford Coppola re-edited the much-maligned third entry of the Godfather movies for a 2020 re-release, and we get a 13-minute shorter version of the movie. Is it better? Yes. Is it as good as the first two now? No.

HORRIBLE BOSSES

Prime Video has also added Horribles Bosses 2. And they're both watchable enough comedies, with all-star casts plotting to destroy their evil managers.

HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE

Taika Waititi writes and directs this great comedy about a young boy (Julian Dennison) who runs away from home, and his loner uncle (Sam Neill) sets out to find him and get back safely.

HUNTER KILLER

Gerard Butler and Gary Oldman star in this enjoyably dumb submarine-set action thriller.

JACK REACHER

The first one is great. Prime Video has also added the sequel, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, which is not so great.

LIFEFORCE

The director of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the writer of Alien team up for this cult classic sci-fi horror.

MIDNIGHT EXPRESS

An American man is sentenced to 30 years in Turkish jail when he is found to be holding hashish. Over the years, he and his jail mates plot a plan to escape. A raw look at life inside prison.

MISS JUNETEENTH

With a score of 99% on Rotten Tomatoes, this 2020 drama about a former beauty queen preparing her rebellious teenage daughter for an upcoming pageant is a must-watch.

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE

Prime Video has also added all of the sequels. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to also watch Mission: Impossible 2, Mission: Impossible III, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation and Mission: Impossible - Fallout.

MOLLY'S GAME

Jessica Chastain headlines this true life dramatic thriller about a woman who sets up a top secret card game for Hollywood's biggest names... only for her games to draw the attention of the mafia, and then the FBI.

MOTHER'S DAY

The worst thing you could do for your mother is show her this awful, star-filled romantic comedy set around the titular celebration.

MR. MOM

Michael Keaton stars in this very 80s comedy about a man who (GASP!) has to look after his family when his wife gets a new job but he is fired. What is this, a sci-fi?? Lmao. (The movie is actually pretty good, just fairly dated.)

NETWORK

'I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!'

THE NICE GUYS

This Russell Crowe/Ryan Gosling comedy mystery really deserved a sequel, cos this outing is pure entertainment.

THE NIGHT OF THE HUNTER

A serial killer targets two young children who know where is fortune is buried. Released to negative press in 1955, today it is considered one of the very best movies ever made.

PAIN & GAIN

Michael Bay directs Mark Wahlberg, The Rock and Anthony Mackie in his muscle-bound version of Fargo. It isn't great.

POPSTAR: NEVER STOP NEVER STOPPING

On the other hand, this satire of the modern music scene starring Andy Samberg is really great.

RED

Bruce Willis headlines this action thriller revolving around a group of retired assassins who are dragged back into business. The less good RED 2 has also been added to Prime Video.

THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION

According to IMDb, the greatest movie ever made.

THREE AMIGOS

Steve Martin, Martin Short and Chevy Chase star as three actors who are mistaken for real gunslingers in Mexico. Only sorta funny.

THE USUAL SUSPECTS

On the one hand, it is a fantastically well made mystery thriller. On the other hand, it stars Kevin Spacey and is directed by Bryan Singer.

THE WOMAN IN RED

Gene Wilder writes, directs and stars in this sex comedy about a married man who wants to embark on an affair. 32% on Rotten Tomatoes.
