We don't know too much about Rick, do we?
Nothing about his parents, or really his life before he rejoined his daughter and their family, but there have been breadcrumbs along the way.
Most specifically, and most personally, was the episode in which he reunited with collective alien Unity, and we see how he is in relationships, and when he was planning out his ideal sex scenario, it involved being watched by a football stadium full of men who look like his father.
So... yeah, we're guessing there's some daddy issues there.
But who to get to play Rick's dad?
Well, considering that Rick and Morty is very loosely based on Back To The Future's Doc and Marty (see the EXTREMELY NSFW first short video below), the dream casting choice would be Doc himself, Christopher Lloyd.
And guess what? He's totally up for it.
Speaking to the Phoenix New Times, they asked Lloyd if he watches the show, to which he replied:
"I don’t follow it closely, but I’ve seen a few episodes and I gotta tell you, I think it’s a lot of fun. I know it’s some kind of parody of Doc and Marty."
So they then had to ask if he'd be game to play Rick's dad, and he would really like to, because it could be a lot of fun: "Yeah, yeah. That’d be fun."
Considering the show has been green-lit for 70 more episodes (at least), then there is no reason the writers can't make this happen!
