James Rebhorn, the character actor who played the role of Carrie Mathison's father in 'Homeland,' has died at the age of 65.

Rebhorn is a veteran of more than five decades in film and television, and has had smaller roles in some of the biggest films of the last 30 years. He played the role of headmaster Mr. Trask in 'Scent Of A Woman' opposite the late Philip Seymour Hoffman, while also appearing in the likes of 'My Cousin Vinny,' 'The Game,' 'Independence Day' and 'Meet The Parents.' On television, he starred in the final ever episode of 'Seinfeld' and also had parts in 'Law and Order' and 'The Practice.'
