Production for Better Man commences this summer.
Oh. That’s odd.
Last week, we shared the news that director of 2017 hit The Greatest Showman director was working on Robbie Williams biopic.
We found it exciting, if not somewhat strange that the movie was in the works, and we are now feeling that sensation times a million.
That is because it is being reported that Robbie Williams will be played by a CGI monkey in the biopic based on his life.
Yeah.
Deadline is reporting that the biopic, which will be titled Better Man, will explore the demons that Williams battled off stage, while he rose to the top of the music game.
Hard to see where a monkey fits in there, but sure we’ll see.
Director Michael Gracey had previously said: “As for how we represent Robbie in the film, that bit is top secret.”
“All Robbie’s songs will be resung, for the emotion of the moment. If in his life he’s in the depths of despair, he’s not going to sing a song as cabaret flamboyant showmanship; it’s going to be broken, a cappella, stripped down, because that’s where he is emotionally. In moments of pure joy, you’ll get songs sung in this whirlwind of hysteria.”
The former Take That man is rerecording his songs for the release of the film.
