RTÉ Player has added over 100 episodes of the wonderful Frasier

Paul Moore

Frasier

Hey baby, I hear the binge watch a-calling.

CAM WINSTON!

Apologies to anyone who has never watched Frasier before because that reference will go right over your head.

However, if you’re one of the many people that adore the wonderful comedy, you’ll understand that this writer just couldn’t resist the urge of starting the article like that!

With news that Kelsey Grammer is interested in reviving the beloved sitcom, it appears that RTÉ have picked the perfect time to host the first five seasons of the iconic show and that’s just what they’ve done because the first five seasons of Frasier are now available to watch on the RTÉ Player.

Granted, you may have already seen every episode on repeat viewing, but there’s nothing quite like having the show at the touch of a button.

At present, they’ve got the first five seasons available to watch – for those keeping count, that’s 120 episodes – so there’s plenty to get stuck into. To be honest, we could watch ‘The Ski Lodge’ episode from Season 5 on repeat for a whole day and never get tired of it.

As is the norm, we expect RTÉ to add even more seasons of the show to their library, although nothing official has been announced yet.

Despite the sad loss of John Mahoney, Grammer is still optimistic that Frasier will be back in the future.

During an interview with This Morning, Seattle’s most famous shrink elaborated on the direction that the show might be taking.

“My hope is that we can bring it back. We’re sort of shopping for the right idea. Will and Grace did a continuation when they picked up the next day, right where they left off. I don’t think that’s appropriate for Frasier because he was leaving town at the end of the show. He was going to explore his life in Chicago with his new lady love. Whether or not that went badly or swimmingly, who knows?

“These are the roles that we have to settle on and what he’s going to do next. Maybe a professorship? Maybe he’s back in private practice? We need something that puts him at odds with his brother again and his new life – Niles has a child now. We’re honing in on it and we’ll see if somebody wants to buy it,” he said.

Well, there’s no better time to get reacquainted with a show that won 37 Primetime Emmy Awards.

You can watch the 120 episodes of Frasier here.

All you need now is some sherry.
