The Russo Brothers are teasing the return of Community

Six seasons and a movie!

You might know the Russo Brothers are the guys behind some of the biggest box office hits of all time, from Captain Americas The Winter Soldier and Civil War, and Avengers Infinity War and Endgame.

However, they began their careers on the small screen, directing episodes of Arrested Development, Happy Endings, and the ever-underappreciated Community.

You may have even noticed some of the Community cast sprinkled through the Russo’s movies – Danny Pudi (Abed) pops up as a SHIELD desk-jockey in The Winter Soldier, Jim Rash (Dean Pelton) is a college head in Civil War, and Yvette Nicole Brown (Shirley) spots Tony and Steve acting weird in Endgame – so there is clearly still a lot of love there.

Over the course of the show’s run, there was a running joke that the aim was to get “Six seasons and a movie!”, but while the sixth season did eventually arrive in 2015, many believed that was the end of the show, which included an incredible recreation of THAT elevator scene:

Well, now that the Russo Brothers are taking a little break from making huge movies – they told JOE all about their much-smaller upcoming heist movie with Tom Holland right here – they are still very much involved in the MCU, and are expected to take the stage at Comic-Con this week to discuss the aftermath of Endgame.

However, they took to Twitter to reveal that they might be discussing something else entirely.

Two tweets, one with a date (Friday 19 July), and one with a time (11am in San Diego, so 7pm here).

The first tweet features sound of the brothers revealing the first bit of footage from Infinity War at a previous Comic-Con, and the second is Abed and Troy (Donald Glover) rapping in Spanish, which featured over the closing credits of an episode of Community.

Since the show ended, we’ve seen the stars of Community go on to do huge things, but this could be the first sign that a Community movie is actually on the way!

We’ll know for sure in less than a week.
