Ryan Reynolds celebrated St. Patrick's Day by watching Green Lantern for the first time ever
He live-tweeted the whole thing while drinking some strong, green cocktails.
It actually took Ryan Reynolds three attempts to be a part of a successful comic book movie, although he'd probably rather forget the first two attempts himself.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine (his first actual outing as Deadpool) was a bad, BAD movie, and this was followed up by Green Lantern, a $200 million mega-blockbuster that made just $220 million at the box office and was torn apart by critics, with a score of just 26% on Rotten Tomatoes.
This June marks the 10-year-anniversary of that movie hitting cinemas, but Ryan Reynolds decided to celebrate a little early, by making a few cocktails with his own-brand gin and watching Green Lantern for the first time ever.
Excited to see the Snyder Cut. But ahead of its debut – and with the aid of a good amount of #AviationGin - tonight at 6pm EST I’ll do something I’ve never done: actually watch Green Lantern. Happy #StPatricksDay

In typical Ryan Reynolds fashion, he gets very funny and sarcastic with his live-tweet-commentary on the movie, admitting he does like at least one member of the movie's cast...
This protagonist seems reckless but likable

The movie, much like all comic book movies would eventually possess, did have an INSANELY stacked cast, including his future-wife, Blake Lively, as well as Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Geoffrey Rush, Michael Clarke Duncan, Taika Waititi and Tim Robbins, while not forgetting...
Honestly, this cast is incredible.

Reynolds has some thoughts on the movie's two big baddies, one of which was weird evil cloud Parallax, the other was Peter Sarsgaard's big-brained Hector Hammond:

They spent 6 hrs each day turning Peter Sarsgaard’s head into an over-inflated beach ball. But the GL suit is a onesie made from old Frogger pixels.

Ultimately, Reynolds' opinion on the movie wasn't as bad as he might have feared, but he also may have found the proper way to actually enjoy watching Green Lantern... accompanied by alcohol.
Happy #StPatricksDay and good luck to the #SnyderCut on @HBOMax! pic.twitter.com/ain5Y4ivPN

He signs out with a nod towards the imminent arrival of Zack Snyder's Justice League, which is finally available to watch in Ireland today, and you can check out our review of it right here.
