Seth Rogen’s new TV show might be the most shocking thing he’s ever made

One of the stars of the new show reacted to the script: “Oh my God?! This is insane!”

Seth Rogen’s CV is filled with movies and shows that have viewers choking on their popcorn out of shocked-based laughter.

That goes from the movies and shows he’s starred in – Knocked Up, Superbad, Pam & Tommy, Pineapple Express, This Is The End, Bad Neighbours, The Interview, The Disaster Artist – or just the projects that he’s helped to write or produce – The Boys, Invincible, Preacher, Blockers.

At the moment he’s doing the press rounds for his new (and very good) Apple TV+ show Platonic, and the upcoming animated feature Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, for which he is both writer, producer, and the providing the voice for villainous henchman Bebop.

Busy man that Seth Rogen is, he was asked by Empire about some of his other upcoming movies and shows, and he revealed that each of them will continue to shock audiences in new ways, with one in particular even shocking one of the stars of the new show.

When asked about The Boys Season 4 and Invincible Season 2, he replied that there are scenes just as shocking as what we’ve seen before in “every single one of them”.

On Gen V, the college-based spin off of The Boys, Seth Rogen said: “[It] has some really crazy shit in it. The fact that they’re in college, they’re a little younger, makes it more shocking maybe. In general, if you’re making an R-rated thing, they let you do whatever the fuck you want, unless there’s some real legal thing that they think you might be bumping against. With The Boys [and Gen V] maybe it requires one extra five-minutes phone call, where they’re like, ‘Really?’, and you’re like, ‘Really.’”

And then there’s Sausage Party: Foodtopia, the series which will be a sequel to the hit 2016 animated movie, which sounds incredible:

“There’s one specific scene that had a special screening for the Amazon PR people. ‘You should all just start wrapping your heads around this now. You’ll probably have to talk about this a lot.’ [It is] unbelievably shocking. We had Kristen Wiig in picking up a few lines the other day, and I think we’ve all become desensitised to it, because we’ll just be like, ‘Roll the scene!’, and then she was like, ‘Oh my God?! This is insane!'”

Sounds to us like Seth Rogen is about to out-shock himself. Count us in.
