Netflix sensation Sex Education has officially been renewed for a second season

Rudi Kinsella

Sex Education Season 2

Great news for fans of the show.

Netflix has really played a blinder over the past month or so.

We’ve had the terrifying series YOU, the most bizarre documentary we’ve ever seen in Fyre Festival and most recently the Ted Bundy series that everyone seems to be talking about.

But one of the best things that Netflix has come up with in the past while is the British comedy Sex Education.

It follows a socially awkward teenager (played by Asa Butterfield), who’s mother (played by Gillian Anderson) is a sex therapist.

As funny as the show is, it also succeeds in creating a discussion about relationships, sexuality and teenage life in general.

The first season of the show had eight episodes, and it went down a hit with Netflix users. It currently has an IMDB rating of 8.5%, and a Metacritic score of 81%.

Netflix have now announced that the series has been renewed for a further eight episodes, although there is no set date for when it is going to be released.

The first season was released just after Christmas of 2018, so we might expect something similar for Season 2.

The news was announced with a video on the official Netflix YouTube account, which is precisely as NSFW as you would expect it to be.
