Recently added to Prime Video, the film follows John Clancy (Oscar-winner Anthony Hopkins, The Silence of the Lambs), a doctor with psychic abilities who lives in isolation. From the mere touch of a person, he can see fragments of that person's past and future.
Desperate for a breakthrough, the agents request Clancy's help. While initially reluctant, the psychic agrees and together the three hunt for the elusive killer (Farrell), who anticipates their every move.
Solace was only given a limited cinema release after its initial US distributor, Relativity Media, went bankrupt. It earned mostly negative reviews from critics, who criticised it for being "far-fetched" and derivative of other serial killer thrillers.
That said, some praised the movie's performances (particularly by Farrell and Hopkins) and twists.
You can read some positive reviews for Solace right here:
The Hollywood Reporter: "The chemistry [Anthony Hopkins and Colin Farrell] achieve is a powerful argument for giving Solace its chance on the multiplex circuit."
Los Angeles Times: "As leftovers go, Solace retains a fair amount of flavour, thanks to high-end ingredients."
The Times (UK): "Hopkins is always good value, and the plot has plenty of gory twists."
Village Voice: "This paranormal cops-versus-serial-killer procedural is never not ridiculous, but it's often entertaining as well."

Solace, the 2015 mystery thriller starring Colin Farrell (The Banshees of Inisherin, The Lobster, Thirteen Lives), is unexpectedly climbing up the streaming movie charts.
One day, he is approached by FBI agents Katherine Cowles (Abbie Cornish, Seven Psychopaths) and Joe Merriwether (Jeffrey Dean Morgan, The Boys). The pair have hit a brick wall in their investigation into a series of elaborate murders.
Co-starring Marley Shelton (Planet Terror) and Xander Berkeley (Heat), Solace began life as a spec script by Ocean's Eleven and Ravenous writer Ted Griffin. At one stage in its development, there was a plan to turn the story into a sequel to the hit '90s serial killer thriller Se7en (which would have been titled Ei8ht), though this was later abandoned.
